After Ashwin,Murli Vijay to miss IPL 2017 due to injury.

The tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2017) seems to be short on some star power with reports coming in that both Ravichandran Ashwin (Rising Pune Supergiant) and Murali Vijay (Kings XI Punjab) expected to give the campaign miss due to respective injuries.
Ravichandran Ashwin has been ruled out of the IPL 2017, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) confirmed on Saturday (April 1), while Murali Vijay and KL Rahul's participation was under the cloud. The good news, however, comes for the Mumbai Indians with Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya being declared fit to play.
Ashwin, who reportedly played the four-Test series against Australia series despite sports hernia, and has been advised 6-8 weeks of rehabilitation, due to which he will miss the entire season. But Vijay has to undergo a surgery on his right wrist and will also rest for rehabilitation for his left shoulder, which could effectively rule him out of the entire season as well.
With already Virat Kohli set to miss the start of the IPL, the Royal Challengers Bangalore were in for further bad news as KL Rahul, the in-form wicketkeeper-batsman, is set to miss this edition of the tournament to undergo rehabilitation following a probable surgery on his left shoulder. Rahul had first injured his shoulder during the Test series against England and he showed signs of discomfort while playing in the series against Australia too.
Kohli, the captain of the Bangalore-based franchise, who sustained a shoulder injury in the third of the four-Test series against Australia in Ranchi and subsequently sat out of the series decider test match in Dharamsala, will be assessed in the second week of April after undergoing rehabilitation and a call on his return to play will be taken then, the Indian board confirmed.
Also, few other players like Ravindra Jadeja and Umesh Yadav have both been advised two weeks of rest to recuperate from respective ailments. While Jadeja is facing issues with the spinning finger, Umesh has right hip and lower back soreness, and the duo will miss the first two matches for their respective franchises. There are few South African players like JP Duminy, Quinton De Kock to already miss the IPL current edition.

The tenth edition of the tournament begins on April 5 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and RCB, with AB de Villiers likely to skipper the Bangalore side in Kohli's absence.

RCB’s Very Own Virat Kohli may miss Few Opening Matches of IPL 2017 Due To Injury

It is a 10th Edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), but the Indian Cricket Team and Royal Challangers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli may miss the start of IPL 2017. Virat Kohli got injured and hurt his right shoulder during third Test in Ranchi, when he dived in an attempt to stop a boundary. As a result to that he missed the Decider Test Match against Aussies in Dharamshala, which team India went on to win the match and the series as well.
After missing one test in his 54 test match appearance. When asked about his injured shoulder Kohli said that, “It's still a few weeks to go before I can be 100% on the field, but these things happen in your career. Got to take it in my strike and move forward.”

The Indian Premier League is starting on 5th april and the Royal Challengers Bangalore face defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opener. It seems like RCB have to open this IPL season without their Captain Virat Kohli, but Royal Challangers Bangalore are yet to make an official comment on Kohli’s availability.Virat Kohli was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at a very young age. Till Now Kohli has missed only one game for the franchise so far, that was way back in the inaugural edition in 2008. This injury will be a huge setback for his franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore, who will hope to have him back soon.

India wins Dharamshala Test, clinches Border-Gavaskar Series wining 2-1 against Australia

Team India has won the fourth and final test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series on the fourth day with opener KL Rahul and skipper Ajinkya Rahane steering India to an eight-wicket win against Australia to secure a 2-1 series victory at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Tuesday.

Wrapping up the win appeared just a formality for India when their openers walked out to bat needing 87 runs to win the series with all 10 second innings wickets intact. The victory was India's seventh Test series win in a row, dating back to their triumph in Sri Lanka in August 2015.

It also marked the end of India's 13-Test home season, in which they won 10, drew two and had the lone loss to Australia in the series opener in Pune.At home this season, the Indians have also beaten New Zealand 3-0, England 4-0, and Bangladesh in a one-off test. The Indians are unbeaten in their last eight test series, and remain No. 1 in the test rankings. South-Africa had gained the No.2 position in ICC test rankings pushed Australia to No.3 position.

"If you don't have a team performance you cannot be the No. 1 team in the world," Captain Virat Kohli said."We had different aspects - lower-order contributions, outstanding spinners, brilliant fast bowlers, and the batsmen have stepped up on many occasions."

After JP Duminy,Injured Quinton De Kock ruled out of IPL 2017

Another setback for Delhi Daredevils (DD) as South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton De Kock has been ruled out of the 2017 IPL. This is after his teammate JP Duminy chose not to play in the current edition of the IPL. But for De Kock, he is advised rest to nurse his finger injury by the South African team management ahead of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and the subsequent tour of England.

It was said that De Kock was doubtful of playing in the third Test against New Zealand and the IPL after suffering tendon damage in his right index finger. But he will now play the third and final Test only after passing fitness Test a day before the start of the match. While speaking to the media on the eve of the match, South African skipper Faf du Plessis ruled out the possibility of resting De Kock ahead of the crucial match.

South African team manager, Mohammad Moosajee, who is also a doctor confirmed that De Kock won’t be a part of the IPL 2017 as he needs at least four to six weeks to recover from the injury. Dr.Moosajee further added that being a wicket-keeper, whenever De Kock catches the ball, the stress is felt in the area which is troubling De Kock  and if he doesn’t rest his fingers, there are chances of aggravating the injury, which could see him miss the Champions Trophy and the England tour. Hence, he will miss the IPL to recover from his injury which usually takes four to six weeks to get back to normal.

This seems another tough task for DD franchise to look for a suitable replacement, a wicket-keeper batsman.

Jadeja pips Ashwin to become No.1 among bowlers, Pujara climbs to second in ICC Test rankings

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has overtaken spinner R Ashwin at the top of the ICC Test rankings for bowlers,
after taking nine wickets against Australia in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Indian Skipper Virat Kohli, at the end of the Ranchi Test, singled out Jadeja as "standing apart"from the rest of his bowlers.

Another surprise was Cheteshwar Pujara who was also a major gainer as his 202 off 525 balls propelled him above Virat Kohli to become the top-ranked India batsman in Tests.

He was at No. 2, behind Australia captain Steven Smith.
Even though the Ranchi Test was drawn, at the end of the fourth day, the hosts had seemed in quite a dominant position thanks to these two players. Pujara, by facing more balls than any other Indian in Tests, secured a whopping 152-run lead though Australia had put up 451.
It was the third double-century of his career, second against Australia, and it helped him continue a rich vein of form in the 2016-17 home season - 1259 runs at 66.26 with four hundreds and seven fifties.
The next good news for Indian fans is that India will hold on to their position at the top of the rankings at the April 1 deadline for a cash award of $1 million.
Australia and South Africa, on the other hand, have a chance to take over the second position.

If Smith's men at least draw the upcoming Dharamsala Test, they will finish at No. 2. South Africa can take over if Australia loses, and they either draw or win the Hamilton Test against New Zealand.
The team that finishes second will be awarded $500,000 and the third-placed team will get $200,000.

JP Duminy not play in forthcoming edition of IPL

It's a sad news for JP Duminy Fans!!

Delhi Daredevils on Monday advised that all-rounder Jean-Paul Duminy has withdrawn from the upcoming edition of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL).

Delhi Daredevils Chief Executive Hemant Dua confirmed that the South African star will be unavailable for the tournament owing to personal reasons. “We respect JP's decision. We are naturally very disappointed to not have JP in our midst this year, but as a franchise we clearly understand his position. At this stage we can only confirm that we will look for a replacement at an appropriate time,” said Mr Dua. It's a tough task for Delhi Daredevils to scout for a such a amazing player.

On his part Duminy was disappointed to miss out on the forthcoming edition. “It has been a very difficult decision for me to make, but it was for purely personal reasons. I’m grateful for the support and understanding from the franchise. It has been an absolute privilege to have played for and led a talented mix of players. I certainly hope to play a part for the franchise in the near future.”

Duminy led Delhi Daredevils in the 2015 edition. He had been a regular with the Delhi Daredevils squad since 2014.
